For Customers
Terms and Conditions
We agree that we will collect only essential information about you and we will be mutually good to each other.
As of last update on July 28, 2026, these Terms and Conditions govern your use of our software services ("The Services"); Longtime located at my.longtime.app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using The Services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease using the service. These Terms apply to all registered users of the service, including those who access the service via a mobile device.
Two words, two meanings. Your account is your login — your identity with us. A Space is a container within Longtime that holds the people you record, along with their connections and history. You may have more than one Space, and some of these Terms apply per Space rather than per account. We are deliberate about which of the two words we use throughout these policies.
2. Website Use
You agree to use The Services and associated websites in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. You must not use The Services and associated websites for any unlawful or prohibited purpose, including but not limited to activities that may harm, disrupt, or interfere with the operation of The Services and associated websites or its security features.
3. Collection of Personal Information
We collect personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. By using The Services and associated websites, you consent to the collection, storage, and processing of your personal data as outlined. This information may include but is not limited to your name, email address, phone number, and other details you voluntarily provide.
4. Content and Intellectual Property
All content on The Services and associated websites, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Longtime Friends, LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without our express written permission.
5. AI-Assisted Features
We use AI in two places, both to save you typing: turning what you describe into structured entries, and letting you search your information in plain language. Our AI notice explains where your information goes and what we will never do with it. This section covers what we ask of you.
Check what it gives you. AI output can be wrong. Nothing an assistant proposes is recorded until you accept it, and reviewing it before you do is your part of the arrangement. We do not warrant that AI-generated output is accurate or complete.
Some things do not belong in Longtime. Longtime is for remembering the people in your life — names, how you met, what you talked about, when to reach out. It is not a place for sensitive personal information. Please do not enter payment card or financial account numbers, government identification numbers, passwords, or details of anyone's health, religion, sexual orientation, or political views. We have not built Longtime to hold that kind of information, and you are responsible for what you choose to enter.
The AI features carry limits. They exist to stop abuse and runaway cost, not to meter you, and they are set high enough that ordinary use will not reach them. Per Space, we will always allow at least:
- The assistant — 20 messages per minute, and 300 in any 24-hour period.
- Plain-language search — 15 searches per minute, and 200 in any 24-hour period.
We may raise these limits at any time. If we ever need to lower them, we will tell you before we do.
6. Service Providers
Running Longtime takes a small number of outside services — hosting, payments, transactional email, error monitoring, and the AI features. Every one of them is named on our Subprocessors page, along with what it handles. We keep that list short on purpose, and we choose providers whose data protection and privacy commitments match our own.
What we take responsibility for is that choice: selecting providers with care, holding them to written data protection terms, disclosing who they are, and telling you promptly if something goes wrong.
What we cannot do is guarantee their security. We do not control their systems, and we are not their insurer. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss, disclosure, corruption, or unavailability of information that originates in a provider's own infrastructure rather than in ours, and any liability we do have remains subject to the limits in Section 7.
None of this reduces our own obligations. If the failure is ours, it is ours.
7. Limitations of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Longtime Friends, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of The Services and associated websites. Our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed under applicable law. We do not assume any responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content or information provided through The Services and associated websites.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to The Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of what you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty dollars ($50.00 USD).
Some liability cannot be limited, and we do not try to: fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, and any compensation you are entitled to under applicable data protection law.
8. External Links
The Services and associated websites may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any external sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies and terms of service before interacting with them. Any interaction with linked third-party websites is done at your own risk.
9. No Warranty
The Services and associated websites are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any content on the website. You use The Services and associated websites at your own risk.
10. Modification of Terms
Longtime Friends, LLC reserves the right to modify, update, or revise these Terms at any time, with or without notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the website. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of any updates. For material changes — including any change to Section 7 — we will give you notice within The Services or by email before they take effect.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware within the United States of America, without regard to any conflicts of law principles. Any legal disputes related to these terms will be handled in the courts located in State of Delaware.
